Over the weekend, Facebook announced Vanish Mode for Messenger and Instagram, a Snapchat-like feature for disappearing messages. This feature allows users to choose to automatically delete chats after viewing the message and closing the chat.
Similar to WhatsApp Dissapearing, the message is gradually sent to the beta testers of the app. While in Disappearance Mode, Messenger and Instagram users can share something stupid or embarrassing, then instantly forget about it by making the whole chat disappear.

While messages that aren't accidentally sent aren't hidden, this can be useful if you don't want your message forwarded or discussed forever. Users can send text chats, emoji, images, GIFs, voice messages, and stickers which will disappear after being seen and users will exit the chat.
Unlike Snapchat, however, Vanish Mode is not a default setting. Instead, users need to enable it in an existing chat.
How to activate disappearance mode in Messenger
Disappearance mode can be activated in an existing chat by swiping up on your mobile device's screen in the chat.
During the first start, a screen will appear explaining how Disappearance mode works.
In Disappearance mode, the screen darkens to indicate the change.
How to turn it off in Messenger
To exit Hiding mode, tap the Disable Hiding Mode button at the top of the screen.
According to Facebook, “We’re slowly rolling out vanish mode on Messenger and Instagram. Vanish mode is now available on Messenger in the US and a handful of other countries, and it’s coming soon to more places.”
